  1. Treating the attic space is a targeted approach often used for drywood termites or when subterranean termites have traveled upward into the upper structure. Technicians access the attic to inspect exposed framing, rafters, and sheathing for signs of activity such as frass, mud tubes, or damaged wood. Treatment typically involves applying borate-based solutions like Bora-Care directly to raw wood surfaces so the product penetrates and remains toxic to termites for the life of the wood, or injecting non-repellent foams or liquids such as Termidor into galleries and voids. In some cases, dust formulations may be used in inaccessible areas, and above-ground bait stations can be placed on active sites to help eliminate the colony while the primary soil treatment addresses the source below.
     

  2. Wall void injection treatment reaches termites hiding inside wall cavities, stud spaces, or masonry voids that cannot be accessed otherwise. Small holes are carefully drilled into the walls or foundation blocks at regular intervals, often near the base or at points of known activity, and a termiticide is injected under low pressure as a liquid or expanding foam. The foam expands to fill irregular voids and coats surfaces, allowing non-repellent active ingredients to contact termites as they move through the treated zones; the product is then transferred throughout the colony via grooming and feeding. After application, the holes are sealed with non-cellulose plugs to restore the wall surface and maintain the continuous protective barrier.
     

  3. Ground trench treatment creates a continuous chemical barrier in the soil surrounding the foundation to stop subterranean termites from entering the structure. A narrow trench, typically about six inches wide and deep, is dug along the entire exterior perimeter (and interior foundation walls in crawl spaces) down to the top of the footing. Liquid termiticide is applied at labeled rates commonly four gallons per ten linear feet per foot of depth while the soil is mixed thoroughly as it is returned to the trench; rodding may also be used to force the product deeper into the soil. Where concrete slabs, patios, or sidewalks abut the foundation, holes are drilled through the concrete at intervals, and the termiticide is injected underneath before the holes are patched, ensuring a seamless treated zone that termites cannot detect and will carry back to the colony.
